I’ve had curly cuts at several salons, including the big name New York salons, and the best cuts I’ve ever gotten have consistently been from Sophie. She has so much expertise, listens to exactly what you want, communicates throughout, and offers curl education without being pushy. She really takes her time, and I always have a fun time chatting with her. Her prices are reasonable considering what she offers, and she’s worth every penny.

A life-changing cut and style!!! I came in complaining to Sophie that my curls were uneven, frizzy, and couldn't look good without going over them with a curling iron. But boy did she prove me wrong. This was the best experience I've ever had at a salon. She made me feel totally comfortable ... and this woman's patience is beyond. She carefully cut, washed, dried and styled my hair PERFECTLY without using a curling iron. I had never seen my hair in the shape she left it in and she taught me step by step how to reproduce it at home. I wish I went to her 20 years ago!

Best curly cut we’ve ever experienced! Sophie was thoughtful and patient and took her time to not only give my very curly tween a great cut, but also empower my kid to take ownership of and care for their curls. Fabulous all around!

Sophie did an amazing job on my 15-year-old daughter’s curly cut. She really understands curly hair and took the time to listen to my daughter’s concerns and how she likes to style her hair. That made such a difference. The cut was shaped perfectly for her curls and her routine. My daughter loves her hair and hasn’t stopped admiring it since we left the salon. I have been wearing my hair curly for about 15 years (3b texture). I started at Devachan where the owner of the salon was trained and previously employed and she came highly recommended from former patrons of the salon. She has a wealth of knowledge about curly hair of all textures. She gave me a lot of great tips on new products and techniques to use. My cut and styling were fantastic. She took so much care in the entire process. She was also available during the weekend which was really helpful to me.

I've been going to Sophie for years and can't recommend her enough. She really listens and is great at troubleshooting and making recommendations for styling tips and products. I brought my daughter to Sophie for her very first haircut (she's 5.) It was important to me that she have a good first experience with a curly hair specialist so she'd feel positive about her hair proud of how she looked. Sophie knocked it out of the park - I'm so glad I found her on IG. We were both really happy with the experience and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Though she's not a kids' sylist per se, the environment was great and she really met my daughter at her level. Would definitely visit again.

Sophie is exceptional. She explained everything in detail from each product she uses and what it does, tricks and tips. She spends a lot of time working through your hair and this is 1000% worth it. She’s also so warm and will make you feel home. I will be back!!

I’ve gone to my fair share of curly hair salons in New York and have to say that no one is as meticulous and detail oriented as Sophie! She really takes the time to analyze your hair and takes her time cutting and explaining what she’s doing. You really feel like she cares about you, your haircut and how comfortable/like your haircut. I left her chair with so much extra knowledge because of the styling tips she gave me. My hair looks great and I’m excited to implement all the tips she gave me.

Sophie was AMAZING with my 6 year old daughter. She spent 4 hours patiently detaining her hair while checking in to make sure she was ok. She showed kindness, patience and professionalism.
